Eel River Brewing Company, located on the banks of the Eel River, was built on the site of the historic Clay Brown Redwood Mill, in the heart of California's Redwood Country. The brewpub, established in 1994, is owned and operated by Margaret and Ted Vivatson. The pub sports a 30 foot long bar made entirely from recovered historic Redwood and Douglas Fir, and features the largest beer garden on the North Coast with seating for 100 people. The restaurant serves up generous portions of pub-fare, seafood and our own brewery raised beef.

Eel River Brewing Company is unique for its distinction in being the country's first Certified Organic Brewery. In 1999, with a bright vision for the future, the Vivatson's broke new ground by producing ERB Co. Certified Organic Amber Ale as their first certified organic ale. Currently, Eel River Brewing Company has four distinctive ales that are all certified organic!

Brewed from "Behind the Redwood Curtain."
